LEONTIOS STAMPOULIDIS, PhD
Nearly 20 years of product development, R&D & entreprenurial experience in the area of photonic systems for satellite communications & broadband ICT applications. Lead a number of commercial, ESA & EC-funded projects on the development of prototype-to-protoflight satellite lasercom sub-systems as well as a successful start-up acqusition. Currently leading LEO new IC product development/introduction & co-cordinating two multi-million R&D programmes funded by the European Commission focusing on next-gen satellite laser communications. Previously founder of Constelex Ltd & G&H Chief Scientist – Space Photonics division. PhD in photonic communication systems, ~100 publications in scientific journals/conferences & inventor of 3 patents.
ILIAS SOURIKOPOULOS, PhD
ANALOG/RF IC design engineer
Professional & R&D experience as an IC design engineer since 2004. PhD in IC design CNRS Institut d’Électronique de Microélectronique et de Nanotechnologie UMR 8520, University of Lille. Master’s degree in Integrated Circuit Design from the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, Greece. R&D experience: succesful demonstration of equalizer integrated circuits for 60GHz receivers in 28nm FDSOI process. Tape-outs in 65nm TSMC CMOS & IHP 130 nm SiGe BiCMOS processes. Professional experience:-Helic Inc (now ANSYS) – micro-electroncis design & support of EM crosstalk analysis software.-IRCICA lab, Lille – detector IC design in 65nm CMOS technology. Publications in IEEE ISCAS & ESSIRC. 2 patents under review.
AHMED OSMAN, PhD
PIC design engineer
BSc degree in Electronics Engineering, Technological Educational Institute of Athens, Greece. MSc degree in Optical Fibre Technologies from the University of Southampton, UK. PhD in the Silicon Photonics group in University of Southampton, supervised by Prof. Goran Mashanovich & Prof. Graham Reed. Delivered the complete development cycle of photonic integrated circuits including design, fabrication & characterization. Research highlights: Development of PICs based on germanium. Design & demonstration of suspended germanium & silicon waveguide circuits for the longwave-infrared. Integrated Quantum Cascade Lasers hybrid integrated with Germanium on Silicon waveguides . Professional experience: LEO Space Photonics PIC designer. Development of complete design flow for silicon photonic integrated circuits including circuit floor plan, schematic, PCell programming, layout & post-layout simulations. Design of coherent receiver & polarization components on SOI.
